Oxalis Logistics’ 2024 Sustainability Report: Investing in people, progress and fleet efficiency
We’re pleased to share our 2024 Sustainability Report, our first since becoming an independent group in February last year. The report outlines the steps we’re taking to build a more environmentally sustainable, efficient and responsible business across our bulk fuel, gas and bitumen logistics operations in the UK and Europe. We’ve examined every aspect of Oxalis Logistics to identify how we can make meaningful progress in sustainability. It marks an essential step forward in our journey to becoming a more responsible and agile business.
Investing in our people
In 2024, Oxalis Logistics invested more than 90,000 hours in colleague training — an average of over 30 hours per person. It’s our biggest ever annual investment in skills, learning and development, and it reflects our philosophy which believes that sustainability begins with our people.
From driver training and behavioural safety to leadership and wellbeing programmes, we’re giving our teams the skills, confidence and support they need to deliver excellence safely and sustainably. In a service industry as complex as fuel logistics and gas transportation, our people remain our greatest strength.
Accelerating progress for the year ahead
While progress in some areas has been steady in recent years, the report sets out a clear plan to accelerate improvements. Over the next few years, we’ll roll out a comprehensive range of revised and new initiatives designed to drive measurable improvement — from the wider use of biofuels such as HVO100 and smarter route optimisation, to the introduction of advanced tyres and short wheelbase trailers that all increase efficiency and help to make deliveries safer, and more environmentally friendly.
These innovations will make a meaningful difference across our European operations, improving the sustainability and performance of every journey we make in fuel transportation and gas logistics.
Fleet efficiency, driving our emissions reduction
The main driver of our emissions savings continues to be fleet efficiency. Since 2019, we’ve achieved a 3% reduction in CO₂ per tonne-kilometre, but we’re targeting a 50% reduction by 2030.
This progress is underpinned by major investment in new Euro VI vehicles and technology designed to improve fuel economy, reduce empty running and optimise every delivery. Our modern, efficient fleet, combined with ongoing increased use of low-carbon fuels, forms the foundation of our carbon reduction strategy.

Our commitment to sustainability is about more than technology — it’s about people, responsibility and continuous improvement. We know that by investing in our colleagues, our equipment and our communities, we’re investing in the future of safe, sustainable bulk fuel logistics.
Our 2024 Sustainability Report sets out the full picture, from environmental performance and emissions data to our social, governance and training commitments. It’s a strong foundation on which we’ll continue to build, as we strive to deliver excellence responsibly across every aspect of our business.
