Since 2022, Oxalis Logistik DE has been operating one of the largest long-haul fleets in Germany’s retail fuel distribution sector. At first glance, long-distance transport may seem unusual for the supply of petrol stations, but we quickly identified a critical gap in the supply chain. The volatile supply situation at refineries and tank farms means that disruptions such as flooding, low water levels, refinery stand-downs, or failure of rail connections are frequent. These disruptions often require the need to cover longer distances and this is where our long-haul fleet comes in, providing flexible, short-term solutions throughout Germany and beyond.

The unique advantage of our long-haul logistics fleet

Our long-haul fleet offers significant flexibility compared to the standard fleet. Unlike the usual fleet, which operates on a hub-and-spoke system and returns to a fixed starting location after each shift, the long-haul trucks have a fixed starting point but do not need to return to base after every shift. These drivers can stay on the road from Monday to Friday or Saturday and if needed, stay out for up to two or three weeks. This flexibility enables us to respond quickly to unexpected demand and supply chain disruptions, a capability not offered by the usual fleet.

The long-haul trucks are not restricted by predefined routes or dedicated retail sites. They can be deployed anywhere across Germany, making them 100% flexible in meeting customer needs. This is a key differentiator, as it allows us to provide short-term solutions at short notice, even when the demand or supply situation changes rapidly.

Our long-haul fleet also enables us to take advantage of regional price variations, allowing us to carry out unconventional transports.
